The Bulgarian Association of Anti-Financial Crime Experts successfully held its Annual Conference, bringing together representatives from the financial sector, businesses, consulting firms, technology companies, and professionals dedicated to the prevention of financial crime.
The event provided an excellent platform for in-depth professional discussions and the exchange of practical experience on some of the most important and rapidly evolving topics in the field of anti-financial crime. Key highlights included the establishment and future role of the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA), Magnitsky sanctions and the growing significance of secondary sanctions, the implementation of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) and the Travel Rule, as well as emerging fraud schemes and new challenges facing organizations in an increasingly complex financial crime landscape.
During the conference, more than ten distinguished experts shared their professional insights, practical experience, and perspectives on the future development of regulatory frameworks, technology, and risk management practices. The presentations and subsequent discussions reinforced the importance of close cooperation between the public and private sectors, as well as the continuous enhancement of professional expertise and institutional capacity.
